  • Has worked with a range of groups and artists, including orchestras, rock, pop, electro, brass, swing, percussion and steel bands

Education / Training

I started playing drum kit at the age of 10 and orchestral percussion aged 14. I studied Music at A-level, and have a First Class Ba Hons degree in Contemporary Popular Music, specialising in performance on drum kit, from the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), Guildford, in 2005. I continue to have advanced lessons with mentor Mike Dolbear.

I began writing for UK drum website www.mikedolbear.com in June 2009 with a monthly feature on Female Drummers, which included a history of players in contemporary popular music, commentaries on the gender stereotyping of instruments and interviews with several drummers, including

Samantha Maloney (Motley Crue, Hole)
Sarah Jones (New Young Pony Club, Bat For Lashes)
Alicia Warrington (Kelly Osbourne, Tracy Chapman, Hannah Montana)

An interview with Laura Fares (Sam Sparro) was included in US based TomTom Magazine, Issue 3 May 2010.

I’m now a regular contributor to www.mikedolbear.com as an interviewer with drummers of both genders and several new features are expected for the site.
